Most Linux package managers, even in LTS distros now carry usable versions of Poetry. And likely package managers that work on Windows and macOS do too.
Should a note be added to the introduction document recommending or advising against using them?
I personally favor installing with
pipx
, becausepipx
is something my workstations always have installed, but I can see for many users, esp. novices, using a distro package can be good enough. I suspect Poetry is becoming quite stable (and that's an awesome thing!), so while probably it might be slightly undesirable to have people on older versions of Poetry, maybe it's not so bad?(I would be happy to write such docs- whether it's recommending, advising against, or discussing.)
