Introduction – for everyone

Grab a cup of coffee/tea/bubbletea/water and sit back!

Welcome to open summer of code! You'll get an introduction about what osoc is about, what Open Knowledge Belgium is, how we work (code of conduct & how we work), what our 4 weeks will be about and what you'll be ✨delivering ✨.

Get to know your team & your project – team only

Who’s who & what do you do?

  • Icebreaker; get to know each other!
  • Share your skills, talents hobbies, …
  • Tell us what you can help other people with!

What are we going to do?

Team & Pitch Prep – team only

Prepare to introduce yourselves to the other teams!

Pitching

Create short pitch (to introduce the team and project, no slides needed). You can base yourself on the project description you made.

  • Decide who pitches – and add it to the sheet****
  • Pitch
    • 60 seconds – maximum of 6 slides (slides are optional)
    • Pitch the project (biggest part!)
      • Partner
      • Goal
      • For whom
    • Introduce the team
      • Pick a team name – also add it to the sheet****
      • Introduce Coaches & students

Create a crest

Create a crest together [Find out how]

Share the crest in the crests folder, name it after your project and team name, like so: team-name-crest

Live stream team Presentations

Enjoy watching the other teams, while the pitcher in your team shines!

Say Cheese & Prep your Conversation Starter Profile

Send over a picture of each team member + take a screenshot with students and coaches

  • Make sure you wear your osoc shirt, and if you don't have it (yet), grab a colourful one 🌈
  • Add it in the team picture folder****
    • Create a team folder in that folder for your team team-name
    • Name each picture team-name-member-name-picture, and if it's a group pic team-name-team-picture

Because it's a remote edition, we set up a cool way to meet other people randomly – with Conversation Starter (founded by a coach of ours, Rutger!)

Get started here: https://events.conversationstarter.net/e/osoc/****

  1. Today: Set up your profile; make it all about you!
  2. Later this week: You'll get to schedule conversations with people that spark your interest. If you want to let faith decide who you'll meet, we'll pair you with random people!
  3. Monday 12 July in the evening: Let's rolllll
