Description

Create an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Guidance Tool that will reference the City of Austin's guidelines on ADUs, as found on their official website. It will assist users in determining their eligibility for building an ADU on their property and guide them through the necessary steps to accomplish this.

Objective

  • To provide an easy-to-use, informative tool that simplifies the process of understanding and applying the City of Austin's ADU regulations
  • To guide potential ADU builders through the eligibility and application process

Requirements

  • Access to the City of Austin's ADU guidelines and regulations
  • A user-friendly interface for navigating the tool
  • An eligibility checker to determine if a user's property qualifies for an ADU
  • A step-by-step guide outlining the process of obtaining permits and meeting city requirements for ADU construction

Deliverables

  • A fully functional ADU Guidance Tool
  • Documentation on how to use the tool
  • A feedback mechanism for users to suggest improvements or report issues

Notes

  • Ensure the tool is updated in line with any changes to the City of Austin's ADU policies
  • Consider accessibility features to make the tool usable by a wide range of users
  • Possible collaboration with local experts or authorities for accurate information
  • Future ADU program to reference Fast Track ADUs in Raleigh

Time Estimate

To be determined after initial scoping and requirements gathering

Cost

To be calculated based on the time estimate and required resources, considering a standard rate for software development work
