I created a code-server application using Ice, but when I start a new instance of chromium-browser it gets grouped along with it. In the dash, in the alt-tab list, ...

I see the StartupWMClass property is used in the desktop file, but I'm not sure that's used anymore for Wayland?

I'm using gnome-shell 3.38.2 and chromium 87.

linuxmint/webapp-manager#51 about almost the same problem.

Does that ICE launcher for your code-server application run through an « isolated » profile ?
That should be enough.

If your Chromium is packaged as flatpak or snap, then that isolated profile should sit in a path your browser can access ( ie. probably not in the default ~/.local/share/ice/profiles ).
