Ubuntu example user_data script

I'm trying to run on Ubuntu using the Ubuntu user_data script as a base. But it seems to set up docker so that it can only be used by a user runners that is hard coded in the user_data.sh file. Am I missing something?

USER_NAME=runners

Should that USER_NAME be set to the value of runner_run_as? Should I just through this example away and try to convert from the Amazon Linux 2 user_data.sh file as much as possible?

The answer to my own question is yes. Unfortunately as far as I can tell USER_NAME must be hardcoded to the same value assigned to runner_run_as.
