The readme does seem very clear that an app is required, so this might be a quick answer. But I'm wondering what tweaks might be needed to get it to work just with a PAT, and if that would be possible? Is there something an app provides that a PAT doesn't? Currently I have a user and PAT but do not have permission to create a GitHub app, which is why I'm asking. Thanks! |

Sorry but this module only will work with an App. Should work on org and repo level. The module is using the app for receiving events to scale. And for authorizing against GitHub to make API calls. With several code changes you could make the API working with a PAT. But in that case you still missing the events to scale runners. |
