<p>As discussed in <a href="./lec7-dist_barrier.html">Distance Barrier for Nonpenetration</a>, the principle of IPC for solid-to-obstacle contact is to use a barrier function to ensure that the signed distance between any nodal degrees of freedom (DOFs) and obstacles remains positive throughout the simulation.
