This article assumes you are using OSX and that you've seen the command line before.
If you know how to use Terminal.app, you can skip this section.
The fastest way to open applications in OSX is using Cmd+Space, which will open Spotlight. You might have installed another program like it, like Alfred or Quicksilver.
Hit Cmd+Space and type "term". Got "Terminal"? Hit enter.
If you don't see it, just keep typing the rest of "terminal".
Okay, now you've got a terminal window open!
