Why is the BLR website different from other similar Websites?

The BLR Website is a showcase how data from scholarly taxonomic publications can be liberated and made open access, linked, findable, accessible, interoperable and resuable (FAIR).

The Website's data is restricted to data extracted by scholarly articles. It's principal user of data is GBIF, NCBI and OpenBiodDiv. The data is accessible for human consumption and by API.

Treatmentbank is the data input facility. The BLR community on Zenodo is the repository for the articles, figures and treatments enriched with metadata.

GBIF is the main user for treatments and observation records.
