Enhancement: Add Image Helpers for ALT and to Alias Description and Caption submitted via Slack by jimtrue

Specifically need {@alt} or {@alt_tag} for _wp_attachment_image_alt to return the Alt Text.
An alias for {@caption} to {@post_excerpt} and {@description} to {@post_content} would also be helpful. Any others you guys can think of?

Sorry, cant use tags, you suggested, becouse i don't use this a post-type, that is containing this tags,
i use it in pods template to get slider gallery like this:
[each gallery-product]
{@_img.large}
[/each]
And in design all images have a caption. I added this caption in library, but cant get this caption, without caption magic tag in

html tag. i imagine how this maybe make look like:

I'm just not sure that there is content, because the pods element is just images for the post, and excerpt outputs a short record of the post, not the pods element.

There is no such thing as a Pods Element like you are describing. If the Pod is a CPT it will always refer to the Post, if a Pod is an extended media type it will always refer to the Attachment Post (which actually also is a Post in WordPress..). This is why the fields post_content and post_excerpt should both work for attachments as well.

I have a problem similar to what is described above. My website has a Project CPT and Solicitation CPT. Solicitation has a relationship back to Project so that Solicitation pages can pull Project data. Specifically, each Project page has a hero photo stored in its Featured Image that I want to pull through to be the same hero photo on the associated Solicitation pages. I can successfully pull through all the Project data except for the Featured Image caption. My test image has content in its Alternative Text, Title, Caption, and Description fields.

I use {@solicitation_project.post_thumbnail.full} to get the Project's Featured Image and {@solicitation_project.post_thumbnail_url.full} to get its URL. These work.

I have tried the following to get the Caption, but with no luck (nothing renders). Am I doing something wrong or is the Caption simply not attainable in the current version of Pods?

{@solicitation_project.post_thumbnail.post_excerpt}

Solution to my specific issue:
As a workaround, something that does work is {@ID,get_the_post_thumbnail_caption}, or in your case, {@solicitation_project.ID,get_the_post_thumbnail_caption}
