Unpredictable mouse movement

I use a Microsoft BT mouse with modifications for the buttons.
However when Karabiner Elements is enabled for this device, the mouse movement becomes unpredictable when moving the mouse quickly.
This started happening a couple of versions ago. Probably with the release of version 15, I haven't tried downgrading.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Enable "Modify events" for mouse
2. move mouse quickly to the left then to the right then to the left.

Expected Behaviour:
Cursor should move to the left then right then left according to the mouse movement.

Actual Behaviour:
Cursor moves to the right when mouse is moving to the left
