New Tool Request: data.json broker

While data.json converters and validators exist, it would be helpful to create a data.json broker or series of brokers that convert several flat csvs to the data.json format. I see this being very useful for local governments as well, who have and are comfortable with Excel, but are overwhelmed by the JSON format or procuring/building an "open data portal."

Can you explain how this would be different than any of the current CSV converters or lightweight catalog tools?
