This world wouldn't be a market society, where people are made to participate in markets to secure their basic needs. This society is a society with markets. Just like in the longer part of human history, where humans had the option to trade surplus on the market. The prerequisite is that people can live with a high degree of self sufficiency. |

We already tried to describe how a post-economic model looks like when we combine today's trends and how such a economy should look like in terms of ecologic and social demands.
One phrase that comes up again an again is: design globally - produce locally. This idea is pushed by P2PFoundation, like here
It's build upon the trend of the rising digital commons. Because information can be shared at near-zero marginal costs - pretty much for free. Look at Wikipedia, GitHub, StackOverflow, etc. (if interest look here for more). But not only software but hardware designs are increasingly shared and collaboratively designed too. For example look at this mega-list: [open-sustainable-technology] on GitHub (https://github.com/protontypes/open-sustainable-technology). This makes it much easier for the individual to produce by himself the stuff he needs. Of course some technology like solar panels or computers are impossible to produce alone. But these too are designed open-source.
But this increasing independence of the consumers make them coproducers. Enabling to remove oneself from the capitalistic system. Although only partly. The possibility of owning land or living-space pushes this withdrawal further. Improving the degree of self-sufficiency and also the dependence on the economy and its destructive addiction on economic growth. Because production is local, I propose the hypothesis that the destruction of environment is smaller, since outsourcing isn't possible and effects come more easily visible. Also you can pretty much live with a zero-ecological footprint, because you directly control all impacts of your doing.
