Improve image upload speed

Larger image can take longer period of upload time and so user has to wait for the completion. Let's brainstorm here, how the upload speed can be improved.

Ideas:
Showing progress bar to decrease user anxiety.

Assuming that the uploaded image goes to mysql server, I think adding a progress bar with ajax and javascript would not be very difficult.... @gauravano
