Summary

We have a mandate to provide a roughly equivalent experience to Legacy. We won't provide a fully equivalent experience this year, but the big gap currently is editing, and we want some communities to be able to edit Pubs on Platform.

Core Goals

  • Support a journal article with all the metadata currently supported in Legacy
  • Allow users to edit Pubs in a rich text way
  • Allow users to easily publish Pubs, Pages, and Sites as HTML
  • Allow users to deposit DOIs for Pubs

High-Level Projects

  • Canonical Pub Type schemas for Pubs, Pages, and Sites and way to create them in communities automatically
  • Initial rich-text editor experience
  • Default site builder (service?) and associated actions
  • Community "secrets"/"variables" (my guess is needed to do DOI depositing and site building)

Site builder can start as static repo that can then evolve into service once we learn what's needed.
