Outdated social platform

I notice that the kit currently directs organizers to sign up for the IRC channel and makes no mention of Slack. Can we update this or is the Slack less widely used than IRC?

I don't mind helping to change copy for that, but I don't trust myself to get the links right if we do want to include references to the Slack.

I think mentioning Slack would be great here. Also remove Google+.
