Bug Description
It seems that whenever the "Taxonomic level" is changed, the "Sort Samples By" selections are lost, which makes sense for any of the taxonomic categories but not for categories in the metadata.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
In the gif below the data is sorted by Description and then day, after changing the taxonomic level, these selections are lost:

Previously, changing the taxonomic level would revert the color
scheme back to the default (schemeAccent). Now, it should stick
with whatever the user had selected.

This is done by using the new "state" option of init(). I imagine we
could also use this in the future for outstanding issues like qiime2#87.
