Boot from USB - has it been removed?

I first came across rAudio a year or more ago, when I could boot from a USB stick. This functionality seems to have been removed?

I use my pi for a number of different applications, some of which reside on an internal SSD. I don't always want to be taking the back off my Argon2 to be inserting an SD card ..

Can we have the boot from USB back please? And for the Pi5?
