Is it possible to map to an already created object

I'm wondering if it's possible to map from one object to another object that I already have an instance of?
Something along the lines of the following:

var entity = new Entity { Name = "Something" };
var update = new UpdateEntity { Name = "NewName" };

var mapper = new MyMapper();
var updatedEntity = mapper.Map(entity, update);

So in this case the properties from UpdateEntity would be mapped to an already created instance of Entity.
