Minutes:

• Discuss moderation action
  • Action explained. No comments/discussion
• Discuss code of conduct / email received from removed
  • Contributor covenant reasonable
  • Have had some trouble fiddling with our own
  • Keen to present this as a way forward for the community
  • Action: Committee members to have a thorough read, and think about whether we should take it to the AGM
  • Discussion to be continued in a GitHub issue
• Set date for AGM - proposal of May 14
  • Using Zoom
  • Vote: Set date of next AGM as May the 14th
    • Unanimous yes
  • Action: Andrew to investigate the organisation of an AGM.
• Steve would like to step down as treasurer, but it’s a hard position to fill. What would help? Docs? Being available to ask questions? More active involvement from our accountant?
  • Would be valuable to know what's involved in the job
  • Start a document about what Steve currently does
  • Give an indication of the time involvement
• Ruby Retreat update
  • Official advice not needing to cancel events
  • There are many international travelers who are not keen to do that at this time
  • There is a suggestion of full refunds, but that would ensure the event makes a loss
  • Refunds for people requesting them, perhaps ~500-1000 loss. For a total cancellation, ~5000-10000 loss.
  • Financially, Ruby NZ would be ‘fine’ consuming that loss
  • Tangentially, do we want to promote the event for ticket sales? Or do we not want to, given the pandemic threat. (Note it is quite isolated)
  • Vote: the organisers of Ruby Retreat can offer refunds or cancel the event if they decide it is necessary, and are encouraged to prioritise attendee and community safety over financial performance. Ruby NZ will cover any loss from the event.
