+MONTREAL CANADA, September 10, 2024 – The [Rust Foundation](https://foundation.rust-lang.org/), an independent non-profit dedicated to stewarding and advancing the Rust programming language, today released a new report detailing recent technical accomplishments carried out between February and August 2024 in collaboration with various organizations, teams, and individuals within the Rust community.

+The report serves as a catalog of recent milestones and new packages of work managed by the Rust Foundation’s Technology Team, including:

+* Hiring new engineering talent to help support the development and growth of Rust infrastructure and Rust-C++ Interoperability.
+* Rust language security Threat Models, including dedicated reports on Rust infrastructure and the crates ecosystem.
+* Donations supporting technical initiatives from Platinum Members Google, Microsoft, and others.
+* crates.io technical debt reduction and functionality improvements.

+The report has been published one day prior to the official start of [RustConf](https://rustconf.com) – an annual conference dedicated to the Rust programming language community that is being hosted by the Rust Foundation for the first time in 2024. Rust Foundation Executive Director & CEO, Dr. Rebecca Rumbul will deliver opening remarks at RustConf 2024 on Wednesday, September 11 and is expected to comment on the foundation’s latest publication onstage.
