title: X4, X5, and X6 Prototype DSis

X4, X5, and X6 Prototype DSis
| ||

Thanks Voodooween we're releasing 3 new prototype DSis! All of these are retail protos running the v2235-7985 factory firmware.

TWL-CPU-X4
| ||
This DSi is from inside the WRFU Tester, a piece of factory hardware used to test wireless communications. The X4 DSi has been slightly modified with a couple wires connecting to the power switch and LEDs. This is so the DSi can be turned on and off with an external switch in the WRFU hardware. While most prototypes have a glossy finish, this one does not.

| ||
The X4 had another firmware which was deleted but fully recovered. There is an autoboot Launcher v1538-6272, MachineSettings v1538-6272, and the data titles wlanfirm and DSHashTable (no versions). This firmware has not been found before now, and is estimated to be from 2008/05 to 2008/06.

| ||

TWL-CPU-X5 and TWL-CPU-X6
| ||
These DSis are very similar to the previous X6 released here. The other X6 used to have wires coming out of the sides, but they were removed so it was impossible to tell what they were for. Voodooween's new X5 and X6 both still have the wires attached.

| ||
In the same order as the photos, the wires connect to the power button, A button, and the C90/C13 resistors. Connecting the resistor wires on a retail motherboard just resulted in the DSi turning off.

There was no deleted content in either of the prototypes, but the X6 strangely had multiple
.CHK
files on the root of the NAND, most likely created by a disk checking tool.

| ||
