Agenda

  • What is everyone working on?

Notes

What are we working on?

Ian

Assorted small patches merged this weekend:

  • bugfixes
  • spk dev gives a helpful link
  • typescript available

Starting work on a couple apps

Want to work on converting functionality contained in HackSessionContext to use powerbox with compatibility shims. Web publishing probably first target. Prototyping an app with an (unimplemented) capnp interface for web publishing. Would appreciate Kenton weighing in on architecture questions.

Drew

Haven't done much lately but interested in continuing shell refactoring to move to more well-structured imports/exports and classes.

Zach

  • Weblate
  • Experimenting with ipp
  • Interested in a filesystem compatibility shim.
    • Ian: concerned about attack surface for fuse, but like the idea.
    • Drew: maybe an LD_PRELOAD library?

precedent: https://subgraph.com/index.en.html

possible protocol: https://github.com/zenhack/sandstorm-filesystem

Dan

"clicked the donate button" still working to get server back up on on domain. been busy with COVID-19 stuff.

Lyre

Talked with Jacob on Mar 15 about governance questions/administering the OpenCollective infrastructure. Want to make key decisions about administration and how resources (money) are allocated before talking too broadly. That way we can have clear processes and accountability stories for contibutors.

Backchanneling with a few people to talk about being on OpenCollective as a core contributor. Trying to suss out:

  • Financial needs
  • steps we're taking to put together a budget that we can set goals against

Gathering data about picking budget numbers and processes for making decisions. Next steps would be for community to produce a number and a decision-making process.

Want to establish very long-lived relationships.
