How to deploy searing via docker compose?

Hello,

I can't get searxng-docker up and running and don't understand what is missing.
Can someone please help me in fixing my issue?

My setup: nginx up and running, using port 8082, because 8080 is already used.

My docker compose:

What am I doing wrong?

You ports definition is wrong. You have to expose the ports on the local IP as long as you use an external proxy (it seems you use nginx proxy manager). As it is now searxng port is not exposed to the local lan interface so RP cannot communicate with it.

Change this and it should work

Either you use searxng-docker like it was designed for, so through docker compose. Or you run searxng in docker standalone: https://docs.searxng.org/admin/installation-docker.html

Don't try to bend to what searxng-docker was not designed for.

Never had any issues with compose.yaml in Portainer.

Maybe something with the .env file?

The impression I have is that your docker networks configuration in portainer is not allowing you to create the searxng network. Seems an issue with your setup or something portainer is doing with the docker networks. Can't think something more from just the error message.

Agree. I have restarted my pc and all containers are running fine except searxng.
But I haven't changed anything on my setup.
