I installed this on Splunk 6.5.3 for Windows.
I don't see connection failures. I checked the firewall logs and I see drops, so the port is blocked. However, my search only shows successes.
I took a peak at the py files and I see I am supposed to get a "999" status, but I only see "200"s.

I did install it on linux, splunk 6.6.12
it only logs successes still, but I now understand why, it stops testing after the first failure.
If I remove the failed host, it keep going on the next run.
I am still unsure how to fix it but at least I keep moving on hosts list
