So I just tested this a few different times -- after extracting the release zip to a folder and running PowerDimmer.exe, the app seems to launch normally and is present in the system tray. However, after pressing the key combo (CTRL + WIN + ALT + D) there is a brief loading period before the dim filter deactivates and the app closes by itself. Pressing the key combo does nothing, attempting to launch the .exe again does nothing. That is however, unless you remove settings.json. In which case the app will launch but the same issue will occur if you press the key combo.

I've tried build the app from the source to see if this fixes anything but it does not.

Video of the problem and steps to reproduce.

Currently using Windows 11 version 22H2.

I'm guessing it's because something is already bound to ctrl+win+alt+d.

Does it still crash if you toggle dimming via the context menu in the system tray?

I use PowerToys, Quick Look and Twinkle Tray which I don't think binds anything to that combo. However, I did try it from the context menu and got an unhandled exception. Attached a log for you.
