Notebooks for the reduced-gravity ocean model based on the metno/gpuocean core

Installation

Follow the instruction in the metno/gpuocean project using the conda_env_opendrift.yml from this repository including OpenDrift dependencies. Check out 8898fdfff4105e578270adb023eed7481fdfc37f on the branch reduced_gravity of the gpuocean-repository (see here)

Last, to set the $PYTHONPATH to find the source code from the gpuocean repository within the environment, run the following lines

conda activate gpuocean_opendrift
conda-develop /path/to/gpuocean/src

Reproduction of Results

The figures of `Combining Barotropic and Baroclinic Simplified Models for Drift Trajectory Predictions' by Florian Beiser, Håvard Heitlo Holm, Martin Lilleeng Sætra, Nils Melsom Kristensen, and Kai Håkon Christensen can be re-generated in this repo.
