The AppCivist Platform contains code and documentation about the development of the following aspects of the AppCivist Project

  1. AppCivist Capabilities: at its core, AppCivist is a system for facilitating and improving processes of proposal making and deliberation, in social activism and civic participation applications. To achieve this goal, we define a set of capabilities that we would like to support. Documentation and links to the repository of each capability will be available in this wiki.
  2. AppCivist Proposal Development App: one example of the integrated sum of all of AppCivist independent capabilities is demonstrated by the AppCivist Proposal Devlopment Application. Links and documentation about this tool will also be available in this wiki.
  3. AppCivist Composition and Execution Engine: AppCivist also aims to build a comprehensive registry of services (web or mobile apps, web services APIs, etc.) that can be used for purposes of civic participation and social activism. This registry will be used to enable the composition of such services, therefore constructing new applications (i.e., "Assemblies") that can support different activism processes.
