Solidus 2.11.x upgrades

v2.11 is the most extensive minor version of Solidus so far with its 10 (and it's not over yet!) patch releases. A lot of changes happened under the hood, and this discussion is meant to document issues and caveats that can help in the upgrade process from 2.10 or earlier versions of 2.11 to the most recent one.

FactoryBot::DuplicateDefinitionError

Error:

FactoryBot::DuplicateDefinitionError:
  Factory already registered: <factoryname>

Cause

The way Solidus loads factories changed in 2.11 in order to reflect changes upsteam in FactoryBot, so you're probably going to see these errors when running tests after the upgrade.
