I have come to help save this planet from an extraterrestrial invasion, but due to unforeseen circumstances, have been forced to help you save you from yourselves. My shuttlecraft malfunctioned upon entering your atmosphere: its quantum computer lost coherence and as a consequence the laser-powered ion thrusters overloaded and my communication array rendered inoperable.

Once I had an understanding of your languages and culture, I began to explore your world (in an awkward skinsuit yes, but we work with what we have) and started the process of improving your communal scientific knowledge.

If you are to stand a chance on the galactic stage, it seems we have much work to do.

Whilst there are many avenues of technological advance you are in desperate need of, my dropship's functionality was of course extremely limited at this time. Initial prioritisation of my knowledge dissemination had to align with fixing it.

With my ship back at full capacity, an optimal knowledge dissemination tree was calculated and partitioned. To my dismay, the results suggest climate runaway and biosphere collapse long before the Omicron Persei 8 fleet arrives to sterilize this planet.

The dominant species has no idea how to model the future or decouple their activities from environmental collapse. I must act with haste.
