Who
Hi, my name is Octavio, and I'm from Mexico. A few years back I was part of academia, mainly on wet-lab applications of biomedical sciences. After leaving it, I started to write about math, natural sciences, academia, and some other things.
What
The main idea is to use mathematical modeling to gain information that results in actions at the bench. However, most of the computational resources that I can have access to are scarce at best. Making most of the projects focus on small-size models. But in the era of trillion parameter models, I believe important to develop resource-constrained models.
Why
I think is important to try to find new financing models for citizen science, open data science, and open access projects. If successful this can be an example of how to obtain funding for people wanting to do science but are unable to find a place to do it.
Funds
Until I reach the goal for full-time open science development most of the resources will go to upgrade the computing power, ensure code and data accessibility, and green power solutions.
