Who are you?
Matthew D. Groves is a guy who loves to code. It doesn't matter if it's C#, jQuery, or PHP: he'll submit pull requests for anything. He has been coding professionally ever since he wrote a QuickBASIC point-of-sale app for his parent's pizza shop back in the 90s. He currently works for Couchbase, helping developers in any way he can. His free time is spent with his family, watching the Reds, and getting involved in the developer community. He is the author of AOP in .NET, Pro Microservices in .NET, a Pluralsight author, and a Microsoft MVP.
What are you working on?
- I like working on all kinds of stuff: docs, code, personal, hobby, professional, but generally I gravitate toward .C# and Couchbase related stuff.
- Right now (Late summer 2023) I'm building a Real World Conduit implementation with ASP.NET and Couchbase
- I'm also building NoSqlMigrator (and dogfooding it for the above project).
What are you going to do with this money?
- I will likely invest it into developer tools or services, like ChatGPT, Azure, JetBrains, etc.
- I may also invest it on tools and material for presentations that I deliver to user groups, meetups, and conferences (for which I am rarely paid by the conferences more than partial travel expenses).
- Finally, I also run C# Advent. If you want to support that in particular, let me know, and I'll be happy to funnel that into promotion and/or gifts for contributors.
