Spyder terminal displays white screen. What steps will reproduce the problem?
Launch Spyder
Click + or x in the terminal pane
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When I launch Spyder for the first time the terminal loads correctly and it is functional. However, I cannot use the + button to open a new terminal. If I do so, a white screen is displayed in the terminal and it is not responsive. The same also happens when I click the x button to reset the terminal.
Please provide any additional information below
Using the task manager I observe that whenever I click x or click + and close the terminal the total number of processes goes up by 1 and never decreases. I think for some reason the terminals are running in the background but not actually shutting down when closed in Spyder.
Versions and main components
Terminal Version: 1.2.2
Spyder Version: 5.5.1
Python Version: 3.9.7
Operating system: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
