I only looked closely at CMatrix and Unimatrix. I didn’t know about TMatrix at all. Someone pointed it out to me on reddit, and I did a small breakdown of TMatrix. That author and I came up with pretty similar looking results. I made the alphabet a combination of ASCII numbers, symbols, and half-width katakana. That’s not exactly the same as the movies but it’s close. I know some folks have mentioned that only the digits 7 through 9 show up in some scenes from the movies. Also, I took a few things directly from CMatrix (e.g. the “-s” and “-a” options). That might also explain some of the similarities. I mainly did this because it didn’t seem like CMatrix would add good Unicode support any time soon. |

Did you know of https://github.com/M4444/TMatrix when you set out to make this? The code is clearly different and superior, but the design is almost identical, down to the text message delays, alphabet selection, and options (although changed).
