Facet constraint does not display if date range is the only search limit applied

If the only search limit applied is a date range then the constraint does not display. If you apply a search or another facet, it displays as it should. I would expect the "Start over" button and the facet constraint to display in both cases.

This is a 10 year old issue, apparently: projectblacklight/blacklight#698

Like so much else, possibly fixed by updating to Blacklight 8.
