To avoid enemies cluster near the Orb, as alternative to usual TD "enemies enter base" solution, make Orb to instakill regular enemies and take damage itself. Orb's field of vision should be one tile to give opportunity for player/towers to kill enemy.
Enemies should be able to shoot at Mage if they see him and can shoot, but they should continue their movement towards the Orb.
A text log (simple line with world's reaction/warning) should be shown at the top (where is mountains border).
