All four websites (carpentries.org and the three lesson programs) have the same 404 page layout.
This includes an option for "search." However, only carpentries.org has an actual "search" page. We had decided not to include the search page on the lesson program sites because their content was rather simple. This means that clicking on "search" from a lesson program's 404 page will result in a 404.
Some options to resolve this:
Set up a search page on each lesson program's site
Make the "search" option appear only on carpentries.org and offer other information on the lesson program sites' 404 pages
Other ideas?
Setting up a search page on each lesson program's site is not difficult.
Making the "search" page appear only on carpentries.org is not difficult.
As for offering other information on the lesson program sites or any other ideas, difficulty of implementation depends on what we want to do.
