GREASE is the Guest Reliability Engineering Automated Service Engine (GREASE). In a nutshell GREASE distributed job scheduler & executor.
One word? Magic. In a few words, if it sees something that its been configured to change, it will schedule a job to be executed to do the thing you've configured do change the thing you wanted different.
One word? Magic. But seriously Python. This is because its easier to on-board developers and we have yet to find the speed of Python not enough.
