Career Path to Senior Product Marketing Manager

I am currently Product Marketing Manager and would like to progress to Senior Product Marketing Manager.

Required qualifications:

• Creates spin-offs: finds the opportunity, assembles the team, and leads the business aspects.
• Responsibility for the profitability of the spin-off.
• Moves the industry forward by introducing novel techniques, approaches, or ideas.
• Had run at least one profitable project in Niteo.
• Usually at least 12-15+ years of marketing/business experience.

I already qualify on the third and fifth requirement but will focus with Manager to qualify for the first, second and fourth requirement.

I will create a comment for each of the requirements with specific agreed steps to take to achieve it. Any User Story that shows a step towards qualification will be referred here.

Goal set: March 2019

Notes: I have already built small self-contained projects but now it's the time to create an opportunity. I already have a few ideas I want to explore in the coming months.

Steps:

• Do market research for my Catchups software idea.
• Have 10 interviews with potential customers (before that, read The Mom Test).
• Run a survey through Facebook with the help from marketing.
• Build a basic mockup with the help from design.
• Get an estimate from development on the MVP.
