This release fixes an issue where third person view didn't persist after a death and also changes the behaviour of Swap Player so that it swaps all players instead of just two. This is also a celebration of UT99 being re-added to Crowd Control after the 2.0 update!
To Install
Place the two files (the .int and .u) into the System folder in your Unreal Tournament installation. The mutators should now be available to select, and the Crowd Control Tournament options should be under the Mod menu.
Usage
Once installed, start your game (Practice mode, "Crowd Control Tournament" through the Mods menu, Local Hosting, or on a Dedicated Server). The "Start Unreal Tournament" option in the menu won't have Crowd Control, but you can use the "Start Crowd Control Tournament" option under the mods menu to play the campaign with Crowd Control. If playing a practice game or hosting a server, make sure to enable the "Crowd Control support for UT99" mutator.
If you are playing a local game or running the server on the same computer as Crowd Control, the mutator will be able to connect without any additional configuration.
If you are running the Crowd Control client on a different machine than the server (eg. you are using a dedicated server), you will need to tell the server where your Crowd Control client is. Log in as an admin on your server (Go to console and use "adminlogin "). Once logged in, you can configure the IP where the Crowd Control client (or OfflineCrowdControl script) is running. To do this, go to the console and type
mutate cc setip
Once the IP has been set, the mutator will likely automatically connect on its own. If not, you can initiate a reconnect by going to the console and using
mutate cc reconnect
If you are running the mutator on a different machine than the Crowd Control client (or the offlineCrowdControl script), you may need to ensure that you have port 43384 open for TCP traffic in order for things to work.
Randomizer Mutator
If you choose to enable the Randomizer mutator (Called "Randomizer for UT99" in the mutator menu), all of the items in the map will be shuffled amongst themselves. Note that there is no guarantee of balance in the placement of items, so in a mode like Capture the Flag, one base may contain all the power-ups and redeemers for example.
Simulated Crowd Control Mutator
If you choose to enable the Simulated Crowd Control mutator, the game will periodically trigger random Crowd Control effects. You can configure how these effects are triggered, which ones, and how long they will last or how much stuff they will give you. To do so, select the "Offline Crowd Control Settings" option under the Mod menu (Note that this will only open if you are in the menu or in a singleplayer game).
The "Effect Frequency" option is how frequently (in seconds) the mutator will try to trigger an effect.
The "Effect Chance" option is what the odds are at each attempt that an effect will be triggered (ie. 0 is 0% and 1 is 100%).
With default settings, this means that once a second there is a 5% chance of an effect being triggered.
Below these settings you can modify each of the individual effects, whether they can be triggered, how much stuff they'll give you, or how long they will last.
These settings can also be configured from the console, which is the preferred method for configuring the mutator on a server. For help doing this, enter "mutate occ help" in the console. When playing online, these settings are only available to a server admin who is logged in.
Single Player Tournament!
In order to use Crowd Control in the single player campaign, you need to use the "Start Crowd Control Tournament" or "Resume Crowd Control Tournament" options under the "Mod" menu. Saved tournaments can be loaded interchangeably between regular mode and Crowd Control mode using either the regular "Resume Unreal Tournament" option or the "Resume Crowd Control Tournament" option.
To select which mutators are used in Crowd Control Tournament, select the "Crowd Control Tournament Settings" option in the Mod menu. Select which mutators you would like to use. These mutators will be used in the next match you play (ie. they can be changed from match to match)
Crowd Control
Official support for UT99 is now included in Crowd Control 2.0! Make sure to select "Unreal Tournament 99 (PC)" in the client and start your session!
More information about using this mutator can be found in the README file
