Welcome to the ToIP General terms wiki. The scope of this wiki is terms whose meaning is defined unambiguously and intended to be used consistently across all ToIP deliverables (specifications, recommendations, guides, white papers).

This terms wiki should not include:

• Any "bootstrap" terms about terminology itself that are defined in the Concepts and Terminology WG terms wiki (tag = #ctwg).
• Terms that are not intrinsic to defining the architecture, features and functions of the ToIP stack (either technology or governance).
• Terms that apply only in a narrower scope, such as in the context of a single ToIP Working Group, Task Force, or deliverable. Those terms should be defined in a terms wiki specific to that scope. Examples are the Governance Stack WG terms wiki (tag = #gswg) and the ACDC Task Force terms wiki (tag = #acdc). Contact the Concepts and Terminology WG if your terms community needs assistance creating its own terms wiki.

This terms wiki may include terms that are normatively defined elsewhere (such as in a specification from a standards body), but which are intrinsic to defining the ToIP stack. In this case the term must reference the original definition and include any applicable licensing or attribution information.
