DuckDuckGo's search API is limited to returning their Instant Answer data. This is similar to the boxes Google may show at the top of search results for a famous person or noteworthy location. Possible examples are Obama, Simpsons Characters, or Yellowstone National Park. As a result, DuckDuckGo only gives results for noteworthy, simple queries.
