Description

Horse Mill is a device which can provide power for TFC+ mechanisms using horse power.

Recipe

Crafting a Horse Mill requires 4 plank blocks, 4 ropes and 1 iron plate.

Usage

Place a Horse Mill between two vertical Axles. Two blocks of air underneath are needed for valid placement.

An eligible animal brought underneath the Horse Mill gets automatically attached and will turn the Horse Mill as long as they have been fed. Powered Horse Mill always rotates at a constant speed, which is 1/16 of that of a waterwheel. The power provided by the Horse Mill is variable and it depends on the kind of attached animal.

By default a powered Horse Mill rotates in right-handed direction. The direction can be changed by right clicking the Horse Mill using a hammer if needed.

Power genration

The following table lists animals which are eligible to pull a Horse Mill, as well as how much power they generate.

Animals need to be adults and need to have familiarity at least 25%.

The power listed applies to animals which have familiarity 100%. If an animal has lower familiarity than 100% the power is reduced to up to 25% of the base value.

The power is also adjusted using the genetic disposition of each individual animal.

Notes

  • Power ratio contribution of an animal simulates its ability as well as its willingness to pull the Horse Mill.
  • A captured wild horse (first generation) can only contribute about 0.5 * 0.34 = 0.17 effective power. This should be enough for welding iron.
  • A fully domesticated and familiarized horse can generate enough power to melt steel.

Known Issues

  • Attached animal may decided to sleep during the night and a storm, however this has no effect on power generation.
