After 7 double ingots are welded together, the last stage (6) unfinished anvil needs to be placed in the anvil work slot, where it can be finished using 3 hits.

Double ingots and unfinished anvil need to be heated up to welding temperature. The usual welding requirement regarding the tier of the anvil used applies.

It is possible to weld together an anvil in this fashion from following metals: Copper, Bronze, Bismuth Bronze, Black Bronze, Rose Gold, Wrought Iron, Steel, Black Steel, Blue Steel and Red Steel.

Notes

  • The Bronze Age achievement will be granted after the last step of the process of making an appropriate anvil.
  • Unfinished anvil presents a more involved way to make anvils, however the ability to craft anvils in the crafting grid is still available.
  • Unfinished anvil can be melted in TFC crucible and the new Fire Clay Crucible.
  • When an unfinished anvil melts in the forge, it turns into an appropriate number of unshaped metal molds. Due to the lack of support for blocks melting in a forge, empty molds are neither required not consumed in such an event, and the unshaped metal molds appear in a single stack. You may dispose of these extra molds for fair play after retrieving the metal.
