Flutter Halochat (messaging) App

This repository contains the source code for a messaging app built using Flutter. The app allows users to send and receive messages in real-time, providing a seamless messaging experience.

Features

User authentication: Users can create an account, log in, and securely authenticate their identity. Real-time messaging: Users can send and receive messages in real-time, ensuring instant communication. Conversations: Users can view and manage their conversations, including starting new conversations.

Getting Started

To get started with the messaging app, follow these steps:

Clone the repository to your local machine using the following command:

Make sure you have Flutter and the necessary development tools set up on your machine. Refer to the official Flutter documentation for installation instructions: Flutter Installation Guide

Open the project in your preferred IDE or editor (e.g., Android Studio, Visual Studio Code).

Install the required dependencies by running the following command in the project directory:

flutter pub get

Connect a physical device or start an emulator/simulator.

Run the app using the following command:

flutter run

This will launch the messaging app on your device or emulator.

Configuration Before running the app, you need to configure the necessary backend services and API keys:

Firebase setup:

Create a new Firebase project on the Firebase console. Enable the Authentication service and set up the necessary sign-in methods (e.g., phone number). Enable the Cloud Firestore database service. Obtain the Firebase configuration file (google-services.json for Android, GoogleService-Info.plist for iOS) and add in the android/app/ and ios/Runner/ directories. Update the google-services.json or GoogleService-Info.plist file with the obtained server key and sender ID. API Keys:

Obtain API keys for any additional services or integrations you plan to use (e.g., push notification services). Add the API keys to the relevant sections in the app's configuration file (lib/config/app_config.dart). Folder Structure The project's folder structure is organized as follows:

Project structure:

Contains the main source code of the Flutter messaging app.

models:

Data models used in the app.

pages and messaging:

Contains the individual screens/pages of the app.

services:

Services and utilities, including authentication, database, and provider state managament.

util:

Reusable UI components used throughout the app. Feel free to explore the codebase and make any necessary modifications or customizations according to your requirements.
