Cosmetic armor pieces overwrite shield

Hi all,

A request for future iterations would be to make shields additive. Currently, two shields (or magical items working as shields) would overwrite each other. Further, cosmetic or otherwise enchanted equipment such as "Real Fancy Hats" can't be worn atm since they would not just overwrite the shield value with 0 but also remove the shield symbol.
