I have installed mySIMBLE and afloat and it seems, against some things I have read, to work with macOS internal apps and some third party but in both cases not with all of them.

In those Apps I see the afloat menu. I did not explicitly test its funktioniality in all of them but in some.

  • Finder
  • Apple Mail
  • Forklift
  • iTerm2
  • Chromium

In those it seems the afloat does not work:

  • Safari
  • Firefox

With Firefox, when using multiple screens in macOS 10.13, a "Afloat" menu is shown if focus is on a different app which is on a different Screen than firefox. but as soon as the Firefox App gets the focus back the menu item disappears. I guess Firefox is not supported?

Is there a way to know which Apps should be supported and which will just not work? I was hoping Firefox will work. Apperently it does not - or is this a bug?

Safari should work with AMFI disabled. Firefox probably doesn't work because they recreate the menubar items frequently and it's just removing the afloat items.
