How to Install

Here's a guide to installing the Chrome extension locally.

Step 1: Download the Extension Files

  1. On the repository's page above, locate the "Code" button and click on it.
  2. In the dropdown menu, select "Download ZIP".
  3. Save the ZIP file to your computer, right-click on it and select "Extract All" (Windows) or double-click to extract the contents (macOS).

Step 2: Open Chrome's Extensions Page

  1. Launch the Google Chrome browser on your computer.
  2. In the address bar, type chrome://extensions and press Enter. This will open the Extensions page.

Step 3: Enable Developer Mode

  1. On the Extensions page, look for a toggle switch labeled "Developer mode" at the top right corner of the page.
  2. If the toggle switch is disabled, click on it to enable Developer mode. The background will turn blue, indicating that it's enabled.

Step 4: Load the Extension

  1. On the Extensions page, click on the "Load unpacked" button located at the top left corner of the page.
  2. A file picker dialog will appear. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the extension files or the extension folder itself.
  3. Select the folder that contains the extension files and click the "Select Folder" button.

Step 5: Confirm the Installation

  1. After selecting the extension folder, Chrome will load and install the extension.
  2. Once the installation is complete, you will see the extension's icon appear in the toolbar or the "Extensions" section of Chrome.
  3. The extension is now installed and ready to use.

Congrats! You can now summarize articles on the go!
