I am at a complete loss on how to restructure the config of https://github.com/wills106/homeassistant-config/blob/master/packages/solax_x1ac.yaml for the latest version of HA.

It would seem everything has changed and the comparison to the X3 version can't help me because this is set for group read.

Can anyone assist, I will be eternally grateful!

I took a stab at this myself and got it working, with the exception of writes to the inverter. Changing the charge/discharge rates or modes doesn't work.

I've issues a Pull Request for the changes I've made so far.

I'll hopefully try and work on Serial support for the custom_component shortly.
Although the whole component is read only at the min.

The EPS stuff is an easy Tick Box in the config so you can turn it on / off easily.

Shame this model doesn't have ethernet built in.

The X1-AC does have an ethernet dongle available for purchase. I did get one off eBay, before going down the serial route, but couldn't get it to work. I believe you have to register it but I've not got around to contacting Solax support about it. When I do and get it working, I'll see if the ethernet dongle works for Modbus.

I am not sure if the Pocket LAN will provide Modbus. I know the WiFi one doesn't.
I think it just acts as a bridge between the inverter and the cloud service.

You are probably right, PocketLAN and PocketWiFi are pretty much the same devices.
