when a focus loop dies, plot the data so you can see what's going on

right now the plot doesn't happen unless it's analyzed okay. should still post a plot of the bad data. will require a new plotting routine to handle the bad data since the plotting code is called through a subprocess and expects certain data. OR could build all the required data needed to make a plot of the failure
